Looking for new friendships and opportunities to meet new people? Interested in helping people, the environment and nature? Require new skills or work experience to strengthen the CV or gain employability points?
As a not-for-profit organisation, volunteers play a huge part in helping Wild Elements carry out its work and ensuring that everyone leaves smiling, with a better understanding of the environment and nature.
Wild Elements is always looking for committed, enthusiastic volunteers of all ages and abilities to help across all areas of the business (roles below) and supporting volunteer development is a primary goal. We love watching people’s confidence grow and their lives changing for the better having volunteered for us.
Volunteers increase skills, confidence, friendships and life prospects, gain valuable work experience and improve well-being. Volunteers are also encouraged to develop their own ideas, and training is offered wherever possible.
Details of volunteering roles are provided below. To apply for a position please complete the volunteer registration form.
Wild Elements is very interested to hear from adults/people who are retired as many of the young people we work with would benefit enormously from building friendships and making connections with positive role models. We would also welcome more directors, particularly people with financial, human resources and business experience.
Help to drive Wild Elements forwards, guide the team, expand business operations and oversee the organisation. Environmental background not essential.
Running playschemes is one of the key services Wild Elements provides. For enthusiastic, dedicated people who love working with children and young people aged 0-16, apply now to help Wild Elements run the best possible outdoor playschemes and gain experience of alternative education.
Wild Elements specialises in outdoor education programmes and STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) provisions. Outdoor Education volunteers assist with planning, delivering and evaluating projects as well as developing resources and activities for a wide range of age groups.
The Volunteer Projects and Events Assistant role is public facing and is most suited to people who are enthusiastic, polite, hands-on, adaptable and like meeting and working with people and children of all ages.
Help with all aspects of marketing and promotion to raise awareness of Wild Elements’ wonderful work, activities and business offerings. Responsibilities can include anything from creating posters, flyers and infographics to writing press releases, newsletter articles, blogs and social media posts.
Wild Elements is a bilingual social enterprise and often needs help with translation and proofreading for session plans, reports, marketing communications and social media posts in both Welsh and English. Perfect for people who wish to gain translation/editing/proofreading experience. All communications will be proofread by a professional before being released and will be returned to the author showing any edits to help develop skills further.
Behind every Wild Elements session lies the paperwork needed to make it happen! For organised and creative people with good interpersonal skills and those who wish to know more about how organisations such as Wild Elements work behind the scenes.
From growing fruit and veg and wildlife gardening, to building sheds and making paths, Wild Elements’ outdoor experiences include working on gardening projects at various locations to help enrich the community and nature in simple and natural ways.
Many Wild Elements activities and events take place in natural woodlands and gardens. We are seeking hands-on people who want practical experience to help ensure Wild Elements’ sites remain safe for use and well-maintained.
Raise Wild Elements’ digital profile and get some hands-on directing and filming experience. Create video clips for promotional advertisements, informative displays for local communities and help Wild Elements develop a YouTube profile.
